At the same time when you see a rug in a store, the lighting used in the showroom would be different than in your house and the rug will look slightly different.

Those are not stain marks. Once a rug is folded and stored, the folded area may appear a different color, this is normal for rugs. Give it a couple of days of walking over the folded area and the wool will take back it’s natural form; the stains will disappear. Also, we do not sale a rug that is damaged. If we were to sale a discounted-damaged rug, we would report the rug as damaged. We would also provide a close-up of the damage.

Each knotted wool on a rug sits at an angle. If you run your hand over a rug you can feel resistance at one end and smoothness on the other end. When light hits the rug depending on whether it is the tip of the wool or the nap, one end of the rug will be darker and the other end will be lighter. Try walking from one end of a carpet under full light and walking to the other end to see the effect. All our images are from the middle of the carpet. These ‘two-color’ effect will not show on small carpets but on larger carpets you will see the effect, as one side will look lighter than the other side.
