Nylon Material 1

Nylon is a commercial name for polyamide. A plastic derived from petroleum. This synthetic fiber is used in more than 80% of American made rugs. Nylon is less expensive and easier to dye and clean than wool. It is more stain resistant than wool and has better wear resistance. Some nylons are excessively glossy and some have poor soil-hiding properties. Nylon is crimped before spinning and may be heat set after spinning.
