Rugman.com Donates Persian Rug In The Name Of Higher Learning.

For the students of the primary class of the Linnaea School, their educational journey begins each morning not with a ride on a school bus, but with a magic carpet ride on a red and navy-blue, ten by sixteen foot Kashan Persian rug courtesy of Rugman.com.

"What struck me most was not their need, which was easy enough to accommodate," explains Farida Mirkalami, senior vice president for Rugman.com. "It was the unique approach to education and to be asked to assist in some small way was very much a compliment."

Located on Linnaea Farm on Cortes Island in British Columbia, Linnaea School offers a unique and exciting educational program for sixty children from kindergarten to grade eight. The school is housed in a spacious, lakefront building nestled amongst playground, orchards and gardens.

The curriculum builds strong academic skills while nurturing attitudes and values that prepare students to be capable, confident, and caring and who can meet the challenges of an increasingly complex world. The rich resources of the farm provide the students with the additional opportunities to learn through first hand experiences, skills and knowledge in animal husbandry, organic gardening, stream enhancement, and forest ecology.

And how do the students feel about their new rug?

"In this instance," Mirkalami states, "a picture may be worth more than a thousand words."

But in ten or twenty of their own: We have a beautiful, new magic carpet. It is soft and fuzzy and pretty.
