This Yazd Rug is made from 100% Natural Wool.
The city Yazd is located in central Iran, half way between Kashan, and Kerman. Yazd rugs usually have a single floral medallion in the center. In design, these are very similar to the rugs of Kashan. The two are often indistinguishable. These rugs are usually multicolored, meaning they have more than twenty colors, but they include mostly red, navy blue, and beige.
The history of this illustrious rug producing city of Iran dates back for centuries. During the Safavid Dynasty, Yadz was given one of the first Royal workshops for rug production. Due to their geographical proximity, Yadz rugs have a strong resemblance to Kashan rugs, in both style and construction. Often these rugs are mistaken for one another, and can require a trained expert to differentiate between the two.
